This time of the year, every year, Christmas comes around. For those in the Church, it is a day to celebrate our Savior's birth. Many claim He came to Earth in the form of a small, helpless baby so He could identify with those He came to save.
In Revelation Chapter 13, verse 8, we find a sentence, known as Holy Scripture that says: All inhabitants will worship the beast-all whose names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life, the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. This puts Jesus, known to Christians of Jewish extraction as Yeshua ha Mashiach, and in Greek as Jesus the Messiah as the Lamb of Yahweh. What this sentence is saying is that Jesus existed before there was any Earth here for Him to come to.
Genesis 3:15 states that "That I (meaning Yahweh, the Covenantal God of the Jews and Christians) will put enmity (the state or feeling of being actively opposed or hostile to someone or something) between you and the woman, and between your seed and hers; He will crush your head and you will strike His heel." Exactly what does this mean? Who is the you Yahweh is speaking to, and the He He is speaking about? The who is being spoken to is the serpent. The He He is speaking about is His Son, Yeshua. What does He mean about a woman having seed? The woman He is speaking of is Mary, the betrothed of Joseph. The seed of the serpent are not in the same category, but are as real as she was.
Galatians 4:4 adds another layer. But when the set time had fully come, Yahweh sent His Son, born of a virgin, born under the Law. The set time the Apostle Paul is referring to is that Yeshua would be born when His Father said He would. His mother was Mary, who was a virgin (Hebrew: Alma; Greek: Parthenos). Both words are only used in her situation. She was untouched by a man when she conceived by the Holy Spirit and when she gave birth.
Genesis 12:3-"I will bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you, and in you all the peoples of the Earth shall be blessed." So what was this blessing Yahweh was talking to Abram about? How could a man who walked on this Earth over 2,000 years ago be part of a blessing that reaches us now? The blessing that Yahweh was talking about is His Son, whom He sent to seek and save the lost. Since Abram is no longer walking on the Earth, those who follow Yeshua are grafted into the Vine of His Father and become Jews. We are descended from him spiritually, and some genealogically. Yeshua is seated at the right Hand of His Father in heaven, where He intercedes for us.
A quick move 2,000 years later brings us to Mathew 1:1-The book of the generation of Yeshua ha Mashiach, the son of David, the son of Abraham. How can Yeshua, who was born of a virgin, be a son of David and Abraham? Abraham had Isaac (Hebrew: Laughter); Isaac had Jacob (Hebrew: Conniver). Jacob was renamed Isra'el (Hebrew: One who struggles with Yahweh). Isra'el had twelve sons. Out of the twelve, there is only one that Yahweh chose to be the line His Son came through: Judah (Hebrew: Praised).
Genesis 49:10. The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto Him the gathering of the people be. Shortly before Isra'el died, he spoke over each of his twelve sons. What he said was prophetic, because it all came to pass. Each son was told something that dealt with his character or end result. Judah wasn't what some would have called worthy, after all, he sent his daughter-in-law Tamar back to her own family after his two older sons were struck down by Yahweh for refusing to have sexual relations with her when they were each married to her. By the time the second had been killed Judah realized two things: she was much older than his youngest and he wasn't ready and if this happened again, he had no sons to pass his land onto.
Genesis 38:14-And she put off her widow's garments, covered herself with a veil, and wrapped herself and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath: for she saw that Shelah was grown and she was not given to her as his wife. She set a trap for Judah and he got caught. Three months later it was reported to him that Tamar was pregnant and his response was typical until she turned the sting on him. He admitted his sin and she gave birth to twins: Perez and Zarah. Perez is the next one in the line.
Matthew 3:2, 3: "Repent, for the Kingdom of Yahweh is at hand, for this is He that is spoken by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness (the prophet John who was the cousin of Yeshua), prepare you the way of the LORD and make His paths straight."
Deuteronomy 23:2-A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD. Who was the bastard, and who was the 10th generation down from him? Perez. Judah acknowledged him, but never married Tamar, so according to Yahweh's Law, he was illegitimate. After Perez was Hezron. Then Ram. Amminadab was next. Nahshon was followed by Salmon. Then Boaz. Next was Obed. Then Jesse. Finally David. David was the 10th generation from Perez. When David asked Yahweh if he could build Him a house, He told him Solomon would be the one to do it. David had blood on his hands.
Psalm 45:6-Your throne, Oh Yahweh, is for ever and ever: the scepter of Your kingdom is a right scepter.
Hebrews 1:8, 9-But to the Son He says, Your throne, O Yahweh, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
Matthew 1:12-And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah had Shealtiel, and then Shealtiel had Zerubbabel, who had Abuid, and Abuid had Eliakim and so on and so forth. The king we are interested in is Jeconiah, or Coniah as he is referred to in....
Jeremiah 22:24-30-"As I live," says Yahweh, "though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, were the signet ring on My right hand, yet I would pluck you off, and I will give you into the hand of those who seek your life, and into the hand of those whose face you fear-the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and the hand of the Chaldeans. So I will cast you out, and your mother who bore you, into another country where you were not born; and there you shall die. But to the land to which they desire to return, the shall not return. Is this man Coniah a despised, broken idol-A vessel in which is no pleasure? Why are they cast out-he and his descendants, and cast into a land which they do not know? O Earth, Earth, Earth, hear the WORD of Yahweh! Thus says Yahweh: Write this man down as childless, and man who shall not prosper in his days; for none of his descendants shall prosper, sitting on the throne of David, and ruling anymore in Judah." This curse, spoken to Jeconiah by Yahweh through Isaiah continued down the line to Joseph. Joseph was married to Mary, but he wasn't responsible for Yeshua. That was the Holy Spirit. This is why Joseph wasn't that important after he did as directed by the Angel of Yahweh. He did his job. Made her respectable.
Luke 1:26, 27, 30 and 31-And in the 6th month the Angel Gabri'el (Hebrew: God is my strength) was sent from Yahweh, to a city in Galilee, named Nazareth (Hebrew: Branch), to a virgin betrothed to Joseph, of the house of David, whose name was Mary ( Miriam, Hebrew: Star of the sea), and the angel said to her "Greetings, highly favored one, Yahweh is with you, blessed are you among women"..."Fear not, Mary, for you have found favor with Yahweh, and behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and call His name Yeshua (Hebrew: Yahweh is salvation). He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and Yahweh shall give to him the throne of his father (ancestor) David.
Isaiah 7:14-Therefore Yahweh Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin (Hebrew: Alma; Greek: Parthenos) shall conceive, and bear a son. He shall be called Emmanu'el (God with us).
Matthew 1:23-Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanu'el, which being interpreted is, God with us.
John 8:58-Truly I tell you, before Abraham was, I AM.
Isaiah 9:6, 7-"For to us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be on His shoulder: And His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His Kingdom, to order it, to establish it with judgement, and with justice from now and forever. The zeal (eager desire or endeavor) of the LORD of hosts will perform this."
Micah 5:2-"But you, Bethlehem (Hebrew: House of bread) Ephratah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah (Hebrew: Praised), yet out of you shall He come forth to Me, who will be ruler over Isra'el, whose beginnings are from old, from everlasting."
Luke 2:4, 5, and 7-And Joseph also went from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth (Hebrew: Branch), into Judah (Hebrew: Praised) and the city of David, which is called Bethlehem (Hebrew: House of bread), because he was of the house of David, to be taxed with Mary (Miriam: Star of the sea), who was pregnant... and she gave birth to her Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a feed trough because there was no room in the inn for them.
Luke 1:8-14-It came to pass that while he (Zacharias (Hebrew: Yahweh has remembered)) was working for Yahweh in the Temple, according to the custom of the priest's office, when it was his turn to burn incense in the Temple of Yahweh. And the whole multitude of the people were praying when he offered the incense to Yahweh. There appeared to him an Angel of Yahweh, who stood on the right hand of the Altar of incense. When Zacharias saw him, he was afraid, but the Angel said to him don't be afraid, for your prayer has been heard and your wife Elizabeth (Hebrew: Yahweh is bountiful) shall become pregnant and bring forth son, and you shall call him John (Hebrew: Yahweh has been gracious). And though you may have great joy and gladness and many shall rejoice at his birth.
Yeshua is also called the Branch of Jesse. He is the Bread of life. He is to be praised. He is gracious. He is our strength. He will remember us for He will never leave us or forget us. He will be with us until the end of the age. He is Yahweh with us.
